This calculator assists in deciding whether
the patient had bled. If the observed new Hct
is lower than the calculated new Hct here,
clinical suspicion for bleeding should be higher.
New Hct is the Hct after
an interval of positive (or negative) I/O balance.
The balance is factored into the calculation
to get the calculated new Hct.
Conversely, if the observed new Hct
is higher than the calculated new Hct here,
then bleeding is less likely. In the latter,
leakage is more likely. In both scenarios,
correlate with crucial clinical findings such as
hemodynamic parameters.
